Amy Nakamoto, a native of Falls Church, Va., began her tenure at DC SCORES in 2006. From 2003-2006, Amy coached the women’s soccer team at Bryn Mawr College where she also assisted in the creation of a student-athlete leadership program, a community-outreach physical education course, and various other campus wellness initiatives. Since 2000, Amy has been involved with SportsChallenge Leadership Academy and Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), where she has conducted numerous workshops, clinics, camps and leadership facilitations.

She currently serves on the board of directors of DC Alliance of Youth Advocates as well as the WAMU 88.5 Community Council. In 2010, Amy was named a Sports Ethics Fellow as part of National Sportsmanship Day by PCA and the Institute for International Sport. She was also selected by the Harvard Business School Club of Washington, DC to receive a scholarship to Harvard Business School’s Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management in summer 201
